BASIC CATALYST CLASS

The original Catalyst class, now called the Basic Class, presents many of the foundational understandings within this body of work, namely the facilitation of more peace, breath, movement, and fluidity in the body. This program totals 24 hours, presented in eight modules (three hours per module). Two formats are available. One format presents one module per week for eight weeks. The other format presents four modules over a weekend (two on Saturday and two on Sunday) for two weekends.

Students learn the basics of Catalyst, which includes languaging, moving toward, functional integrity, phases of a session, body positioning, tactile scan, access points, somatic awareness, body dynamics, body mechanics, body types, dynamic scan, awareness mechanism, and many Catalyst techniques, including Contour, Fine Tuning, Positional Engagement, Translation, Bio-Touch, Axial Dynamics, Somatic Dissemination, Threshold Release, and more.

Delivering a nice mix of teaching concepts and applications, providing hands-on instruction and feedback, and assigning supportive strategies, the Basic Class continues to deliver excellence in instruction. In fact, the entire model of Catalyst is "integratively conscious." That focus holds up whether you are receiving a session or learning how to deliver a session. Students not only learn the Catalyst curriculum, but they also learn about some important functions of the body. Most notably they learn about neuroplasticity and its role in enhancing function of both the sensory system and the motor system.
