BLUE NIGHT
One type of care in Catalyst, Type 4, is the only state-independent approach in Catalyst, meaning it does not fall under the same protocols as the other types of care that rely heavily on consciously assessing and addressing. The resonance of Type 4 does the work. Although contacts are still applied, they are significantly lighter, shorter in duration, and more sparce. To maximize the benefit of Type 4, sessions occur at night when life naturally becomes more still and less active. This help tremendously. Combine the quiet of the night with candlelight, soft-theta-producing music, no talking, no eye contact, and a community of people all participating in the silence, and you have a powerfully effective environment for allowing the stillness to bring about powerfully effective experiences.
One of the more common critiques of Blue Night comes from people who never commune with the silence, finding a newer practice like this to be uncomfortable because, "Nothing is happening." Like it or not, time is required to unplug fully and stop soundly. "Nothing is happening" is a necessary precursor for nothing to have its way with you. Restlessness and the constant need for something will definitely diminish the results of Blue Night.
Stopping for a significant amount of time is necessary in order to feel the sacred in the nothingness. To prepare for Blue Night, allow the process to have its way with you. Do not be attached to anything so that "nothing" can get in. Once you get acclimated to nothing being enough, you discover that nothing is significantly more than enough. You have to get there in order to get there, meaning you have to meet whatever criteria you need to meet for however long you need to meet it before it can actually have its way with you.
One of the more common experiences of people who can relax into the energy of Blue Night is a profound sense of awareness. Emotions can become unlocked in this type of safe space. People may find themselves moving in way that are unusual for them. So many phenomena occur as awareness increases, as people become more in-touch. Some people have a high degree of going-with-it-ness and, therefore, can find themselves touching many different sacred things, some of mind, some of body, some beyond any of those.
An ultimate practice in space-based living, Blue Night can bring about a tremendous amount of insights, a profound level of peace, and a seemingly endless combination of those two. Sessions usually run from anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour. Arriving early to get acclimated to the energy helps in the process. Practicing Practical Integration at the end also helps. Everything in between is as unique as every new moment can be. Becoming more "plugged in" to present-time consciousness will give you more of what you need, whether you know it or not. If you have an inherent, adventurous spirit, bring it to Blue Night and discover what you previously needed and were being fed.
