COMMITTEE MEETING

The committee that lives inside of you can probably have your back better than you can. The diversity of perspectives will help you see the bigger picture. Maybe you know intuitively that you have untapped potential inside you. Regardless, how do you tap it? One easy way is to host a committee meeting, letting parts of you that never see the light of day have their say. By simply calling a committee meeting to order, you can finally tune into parts of you that you never let speak. Even contemplating is better when you recruit other versions of you to contemplate with you. The endless number of dyamics that exist within you can keep this practice fresh and new for the rest of your life. One of the reasons this practice is so effective is because when most people contemplate, they do it as the same tyrannical version of themselves. Does the term tyrannical seem extreme? When you make any decision, who do you think gets the final word? The inner tyrant is a controloholic who is not at all interested in getting opinions from others, even if the others are different versions of you. Do you ever wonder why you never hear from those other versions? That's your inner tyrant. Your inner tyrant wouldn't have it any other way. This dominant version of you wants to maintain having the final word on all decisions. Yes, "you" get to have the final word, but in the process you are ignoring a lot of untapped wisdom living dormant inside of you.

You can call on different archetypes to share their perspectives. You can even call on any archetype who is sitting in on the committee meeting to share, not knowing which version of you will actually speak up. Does this all sound crazy? What if you were a CEO having a meeting with some of the best minds in the world? Would you want their input? What if you knew that some of your best minds were actually better equipped than you to provide greater insights? Would you listen then? Do you think it is crazy to tap your greater wisdom or crazy not to? Hosting committee meetings is the hands-down easiest way to access untapped potential in you. Does it still sound crazy?

One of greatest benefits in working with archetypes (committee members) is having great exchanges to resolve some challenging situations. Similar to some multiple truths, some different versions of you can seem to be in opposition to each other. What is often thought of as inner conflict is simply a conversation that has not taken place yet. How can you get to a point of resolution when you do not facilitate a meeting between the parties? Do you think you can find a solution that lasts by addressing it tyrannically? Do you think domination or force actually works to resolve an issue? Another fantastic psycho-technology came out of hosting committee meetings. Same basic idea, more specific criteria. It is called Inner Mediation.

INNER MEDIATION

Different versions of you can actually hold opposing viewpoints. How do you resolve it? With Inner Mediation, you assign a minimum of three archetypes to engage in dialogue. Two archetypes represent the two opposing viewpoints. Make sure they each have a clearly defineable name or title to represent each perspective excellently. The third party is the mediator, someone who is truly objective. This archetype can be the wisdom source, you, an inquistive seeker, anyone you feel would help shed light on the dynamic. Of course, you can have other archetypes present as well, but three seems like the minimum. You can have a host lead the meeting. It could be the mediator. Make certain everyone is truly being represented properly. Make sure everybody is asking the tough questions. The point of Inner Mediation is resolution. The more challenging or seemingly difficult a question is to answer, the more you are actually addressing the situation. You can play this out for however long it needs to be played out, which is the best approach for resolution, or you can simply decide on a stopping point, and allow the "jumping-off point" to be what it is. Obviously, this practice is as beneficial as the quality you put into it.
