POSTURES
Placing the body in specific positions commuicates effectively, especially for the individual doing the communication. Apparently, body language speaks volumes. The statement, "Actions speak louder than words," highlights the phenomenon that people listen to what the body says, to the actions of the body, more than what a person says. People believe the body, what the body language says, and what the body does more than what people say. Postures is a way of putting into action what you would like to say.
Thriveapeutics has been using postures for decades to communicate effectively. Many different postures have seen the light of day throughout the years. For the purpose of this mindmap, we are sharing six of the most beloved and used postures. Some of these postures are ideal for communicating with others. Some are better for communicating with life. Two of the postures here, the welcoming posture and the stillness posture, are more in the category of self-care facilitation tools. As you explore these postures, pay close attention to how well they communicate to you. See if they actually evoke the feeling and resonance of its namesake.
