SWIRL

Swirl is the creative usage of a word to describe the experience of free-flowing, unimpeded energy. Consider it being full-out liberation. The word also represents openness. So why use the word swirl and why should you even care about it? Throughout the years, many analogies have been used to help people find their way. The compass always points to true north. The map will get you there. Follow your nose. Trust your instincts.

Imagine being in a box with little room to move. Imagine yourself being let out of that box. That freeing feeling of release is swirl. Imagine being contained, restricted in a finite concept and then finding yourself free, out in the open of the infinite. That spacious feeling is swirl. The image of thousands of pin-wheels facing in every direction all spinning freely and optimally is the visual representation of swirl. Now think about that level of lightness that correlates to that image. Swirl is a fantastic word to describe it. Now imagine yourself becoming so familiar with swirl that you continually build a greater relationship to it. What a compass to have!

You can feel the level of swirlfulness regarding different things. You have that remarkable tool within you. Go ahead and give that tool a name called the swirlometer. Use it. You can feel swirl and follow swirl. Trusting your instincts is a lot easier with swirl as your guide. You can follow any map of your choosing. Swirl will actually help you assess all of the different maps available to you. Following swirl will bring you to a better (more swirlful) place.

A DEEPER DIVE

We live in a world that has qualities of being both linear and non-linear. We can, in fact, see and touch many different physical things. The main triad of thriveapeutics (red, yellow, and blue) represents the mental (red), physical (yellow), and spiritual (blue) aspects of being human. The physical body, being solid, is more linear. The mind, being more cerebral, processes both both linear and non-linear stimuli. The left hemisphere of the brain processes more linearly and deals more fully with concrete facts. The right hemisphere of the brain processes more non-linearly and deals more with openness, newness, and creativity. Think of the left brain processing the physical world more finitely with a greater degree of being absolute. The right brain, on the other hand, processes the spiritual world more accurately since that is the part of the brain that better suited for the infinite and being more open.

The spiritual world (blue) is purely non-linear. Being so wide open, we can assess the degree that something is swirlful. Swirl, therefore, best represents blue, that third component of the main triad that is purely non-linear. Being most mysterious by nature, the soul is that part of the spiritual that presents plot twists, meaning non-linear presentations. "Didn't see that coming" is a common statement used when something comes out of the blue, meaning that many things "show up" that are not so easily indentifiable or understandable. Enter swirl. In thriveapeutics, we propose that we get better (more optimal) results by moving in harmony with swirl, with the non-linear forces in life. Entering into an adversarial relationship with something that shows up organically (out of the blue) is in opposition to life and may not be the best course of action for addressing things that show up organically.

So how do you work with swirl in the presence of chaos or plot twists? First off, you allow for the existence of swirl. Secondly, you continue to grow in your awareness of it. Thirdly, you continue to develop a better (more working) relationship with swirl. So how do you grow in awareness or become more familar with something you currently do not fully understand? Fortunately, swirl makes that very easy. Go back to imaging yourself being inside of a box. Then feel the feeling of being liberated from that box. That lighter feeling is swirl. It represents the feeling of release, of being intimately connected to the unimpeded energy of life. To make it even easier to comprehend, consider swirl as always being lighter, higher, and freer. Give yourself permission to feel differences in weight, texture, and density.

Swirl comes with a lot of breath and a lot of breathing room. The spaciousness of swirl is unmatched. Can you preceive density, heaviness, a lack of spaciousness? Can you feel an absence of breath, where breathing is not so openly full? All of these feelings are gradient, meaning they can present themselves at different degrees. Experiences can be less swirlful, meaning they can fall on the lower end of the swirlometer scale. High on the swirlometer scale is openness. Consider the feeling of spaciousness being on the higher end of the swirlomenter. In using your inherent swirlometer, feel for things being lighter, higher, and more spacious. These all correlate to things being free flowing and more open. Swirl is always lighter.

If after this explanation, swirl continues to seem like an abstract or unuseable concept that does not work for you, go ahead and ignore it. You amy verty well be receiving an understanding of swirl non-linearly, below the threshold of your cognitive mind. If you can, however, concede to the existence of swirl and the swirlometer, just knowing those terms may very well be a great first step.

You are powerful in that you have a great power within you. You can, if you choose, make room for swirl, even if it is just a concept. Secondly, continue to choose to grow in your awareness of swirl. That means at any moment, feel for the density or heaviness of something. A lack of breath or the absence of space is a low degree of swirl. A high degree of swirl is directly opposite of something having a high level of density or heaviness with little to no breath. As often as you can, work on your relationship with swirl, which means developing your ability to feel it and trust in it. Whether you can feel swirl or imagine swirl, you can work with it.

Here is a swirlful shift, a little breathing room, a little space, pure openness. Pure openness is here and available for you to help you live with more awareness, more lightly, more peacefully. Swirl swirls and openness opens. With great breath and space, openness does what openness does, which swirls beautifully.

Swirl will always be accessible to you to help you navigate through life swirlfully. Swirl will continue to offer you swirl. Swirl dances in the openness of forever. You are invited to dance with swirl. You are so swirlfully allowed. You are also better for it too. Swirl and the swirlomoter will take you higher. Swirl will make being more conscious more delicious. The light of swirl will feed you well. It will also help you grow in beautiful ways, in the ways of the spacious, the non-linear, the unpredictable, the breath. Swirl will continue to present plot twists you can trust. As swirl does what swirl does, you can allow swirl to do you too.
